"Writing, researching, conducting interviews and simply being creative" - in the final stages of her internship in Corporate Communications, Natasha looks back on the last six months and tells us about her experiences.
Hi, my name is Nataliya - although I can't really stand the name and prefer to be called Natasha. I'm 25 years old and come from Nuremberg. Maybe some of you have already guessed: I was born in Russia. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Communication Science last year and will be starting my Master's degree in October. Even though I seem a little introverted at first, after a short time I turn into an extrovert and am always up for a bit of fun. I also love fashion and would like to start my own fashion label one day.
I first came into contact with the BAUR Group through my mom and then applied for an internship back in 2019. As I was also interested in the event management sector at the time, I decided to do a different internship. However, I felt so comfortable at the interview with BAUR that I simply applied again in 2020.
Oh, that's a super tricky question ... I would say that I was mainly responsible for internal communication. I supported my colleagues in writing texts and networked with different departments. I also conducted interviews, attended press conferences and took on organizational tasks. As in any profession, structured work is essential for us. To this end, we have an editorial plan in which we record and plan topics.
The early bird catches the worm: I'm an early riser and start shortly after 7:00 am. I start by answering my emails. At 9:30 a.m. we have our daily, in which we discuss all the tasks that need to be done and assign new tasks. After that, my day really gets going. I usually write down upcoming to-do's in my notebook and work through them one by one.
I have to be honest and say that I didn't really have any expectations. As I had previously completed an internship in PR at Prosieben, I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. But I am totally happy to have been here. I have developed further in the editorial field and I have also surpassed myself in some respects. Of course, an internship at the Anywhere Office is different to one on site, but I still had lots of exciting tasks and projects. And a big thank you to my team, which I am very reluctant to leave.
You should definitely enjoy writing, researching, conducting interviews and simply be creative. You shouldn't be afraid of failure either, because if the text isn't perfect the first time, that's no problem at all. There is strength in tranquillity 😊
As I have already had my first insights into corporate communications/PR, I am starting a new position in influencer marketing in September. I am also completing my Master's degree in Digital Marketing.
