Always on the move - truck drivers in the BAUR Group

Today we would like to introduce you to Lukas. As a truck driver, he makes sure that our parcels arrive on time. Find out how he got into this job and what he likes most about it.
A few facts about Lukas
Hello everyone, I'm Lukas and I'm 23 years old. I've been working for the BAUR Group in Logistics at the Sonnefeld site since October 2017. In my free time, I'm active in the volunteer fire department, enjoy meeting friends and riding enduro bikes. This is an off-road motorcycle similar to motocross bikes.
How did you hear about this job?
I found out about a job in the BAUR Group's shipping department through friends. That's why I only worked in dispatch at first. Since I had obtained a truck driver's license as part of my membership in the volunteer fire department, I wanted to use it professionally. So I took the initiative and asked my bosses if I could also work as a truck driver for the BAUR Group. And that was made possible for me.
What exactly are your tasks and what does a typical working day look like for you?
My main task is to move the containers around the site. When I'm not on the truck, I help load the containers.
What is special about this profession?
I particularly like the variety. You don't just sit in the truck all day, you also help with loading. I really like working in a team, but especially on stressful days, it's sometimes nice to be able to be on your own and have some peace and quiet when you're driving a truck.
What do you think are the qualities you need to be a truck driver?
You should definitely be responsible and reliable. But physical fitness is also important and you should be able to cope well with stress and time pressure.
What 3 words would you use to describe your profession or your work?
Passion - varied - joy
