She is on the spot as soon as our customers need help. We're talking about our Customer Service Agent Tanja, who started working at Baur Fulfillment Solutions in 2017 as a career changer. In this short interview, you can find out what her day-to-day work looks like and what skills you need as a Customer Service Agent.
My name is Tanja, I am 33 years old and have an 8-year-old daughter. I started working at Baur Fulfillment Solutions (BFS for short) as a Customer Service Agent in October 2017.
I joined the company as a career changer. I had previously worked as a sales assistant in a bakery.
There really is no such thing as a "typical working day" for us in Customer Service, because every day is different from the last. Sometimes you're more busy on the phone throughout the day and sometimes there are days when more emails need to be answered. Then there are also days when you have a lot of meetings or team meetings. These usually go by pretty quickly. But you really can't compare one day to the next.
So you can definitely start the day more calmly in the morning. You don't have to get up and rush off in the car straight away, but gain more time by not having to drive. You save on travel costs in any case.
On the one hand, as already mentioned, the opportunity to work from home is special and has many advantages for that reason alone. Secondly, we also got all our work materials to take home with us, which I think is really nice. We didn't have to buy anything separately, but were provided with a mouse, keyboard, computer and everything that goes with it. All the programs we work with were also already installed on the computer.
