Review of the b.welcome days 2025

The BAUR Group welcomed 15 new apprentices and dual students on September 1, 2025. During the first 8 days, they were able to gain valuable experience in various areas of the company as part of the "b.welcome days". In this blog post, we look back on this eventful time and give you an insight into our b.welcome days.

September 1: Official start of training

The first day of the b.welcome days 2025 was all about getting to know each other. After the reception with fortune cookies and the official welcome of our new trainees and the honoring of former trainees on their 25th anniversary, there was a group photo and a breakfast break. The trainees then introduced themselves with personal items in a round of introductions.

In the afternoon, creativity was in demand: the trainees were able to let their imaginations run wild and paint colorful tiles. Afterwards, they discussed their wishes, fears and goals for their training with their "old hands" (trainees and dual students from higher years). The film "A day in MENSCHsein" also gave them exciting insights into the life and work of Friedrich Baur, the founder of the BAUR Group. The varied day was rounded off by a safety inspection with a fire drill and a round of activities.

September 2: Information Day

2. b.welcome day im Homeoffice

The second day began for our newcomers in a relaxed home office. They were given exciting insights into the BAUR Group's sustainability strategy and learned interesting facts about the trainee folder. They were also allowed to get creative themselves as part of the so-called "Monster Challenge". The lunch break was followed by two presentations on the topics of data protection and information security. In line with the presentations, the trainees played Kahoot to put their knowledge to the test.

September 3: Company rally

On day 3, the company rally was on the agenda. The new trainees and dual students were able to get to know the various areas of the BAUR Group up close - from IT to the photo studio to the social media team. Afterwards, the teams presented their results and were informed about their upcoming assignment in logistics. Finally, the participants ended the day together in the Schrepfersmühle.

September 5 to 9: Logistics "up close" at BHF in Altenkunstadt

Logistics
Logistics

Our newbies spent 4 intensive days in the logistics department of Baur Hermes Fulfilment in Altenkunstadt. During these days, they experienced BHF logistics at first hand - not only in theory, but also in practice. From incoming goods and order picking to returns and outgoing goods, they were hard at work everywhere. As a small reward for their efforts and as a welcome gift, they were able to enjoy their favorite sweets that they had revealed on their first day.

September 10: Techbootcamp

To ensure a smooth start to the working day, all technical aspects were highlighted on the final day of b.welcome days 2025. Our trainees and dual students received important information on formalities, sick leave, the intranet, master plan and Microsoft Viva Engage. Office 365 and programs such as FortiClient were then presented. The b.welcome days 2025 came to a successful close with a mood survey and the final information on the first department day.

Conclusion of a trainee

"The last eight days were really varied and exciting. It was particularly nice to get to know the other trainees better - we were able to get a good impression of each other by introducing ourselves with personal items, and we also got to talk to each other during the scavenger hunt. The insight into logistics was also very interesting, as you could see how an order is processed from goods receipt to dispatch. Overall, I felt very welcome right from the start and was able to have great conversations with the experienced trainees." - Lisa Marie Streipert, trainee e-commerce clerk
