Group fire safety officers meet in Upper Franconia

Altenkunstadt and Weismain were the venues for the first meeting of the Otto Group's fire safety officers. The aim of the event, organized by the BAUR Group, was to obtain a comprehensive picture of the fire protection measures established within the Group and at the same time to promote a collegial exchange on fire protection issues.
Highlights
A particular highlight was the tour of the ultra-modern BHF shuttle warehouse in Altenkunstadt and the presentation of the innovative fire protection concept used in the new building. The group inspected the modern sprinkler system and took a close look at all areas relevant to fire protection. In this context, a practical demonstration of the LUF 60 extinguishing robot was not to be missed. The robot impressively shows how modern technology can be used to fight fires.
Who took part in the meeting?
Colleagues from various Group companies took part in the meeting, including Hanseatic Versicherungsdient, Hermes Fulfilment Germany and Poland, the WITT and BAUR Group, Baur Hermes Fulfilment and the insurer AXA. This provided plenty of opportunity for an intensive exchange and in-depth specialist discussions. The HVD provided information on insurance topics, current changes and regulations in this important field of activity.
State-of-the-art technologies are also used in fire protection
The program also included modern VR technology in the form of the virtual fire trainer from Flamecoach. CEO Jan Thiel took over the presentation in person, explaining the functions and possible uses, and struck a chord with the participants. There was unanimous agreement that the Flamecoach should be purchased across the Group in order to establish the use of the fire trainer for future Group-internal training courses.
At the joint evening event, knowledge and experiences were exchanged across company boundaries.
Conclusion
The participants' conclusion? The meeting was a great success, as they unanimously confirmed. It provided exciting insights into already established fire safety measures, highlighted current developments and intensified collegial cooperation. It will not be the last meeting of its kind. After all, the foundation stone for future meetings on the subject of fire protection in the Otto Group was laid during the content-rich days in Upper Franconia.
